Soon-to-be Eskom CEO Andre de Ruyter must be watching developments at Eskom with interest - and perhaps some trepidation. Deputy President David Mabuza has defended the decision to appoint him, saying the decision was a collective one and not President Ramaphosa's alone. Mabuza was speaking at the SACP's special National Congress in Kempton Park. He also apologised to South Africans for the inconvenience of power cuts.
