FAO in the Syrian Arab Republic is keen to strengthen the resilience of crisis-affected communities, where agricultural activities were disrupted, through restoration of access to water to enable rural communities to resume productive activities and sustain and improve their livelihoods. This is achieved by implementing:
1) Support irrigation restoration efforts by understanding the needs to design projects/interventions that will allow farmers access water for irrigation.
2) Involving communities in managing water resources.
3) Leading irrigation interventions through a multidisciplinary lens.
