Nigel Farage pulled a surprise today by wresting control of his party, with the dramatic move of sacking its Deputy Leader Ben Habib, who failed to win a seat in parliament at last week’s vote.
Now that has been an immediately unpopular move. Ben is one of the smartest guys on the British right and when I spoke to him last week after the result was intent to remain part of the Reform UK movement, but was clearly concerned about the party turning into a personality vehicle.
This morning he found out on social media he was to be replaced by the party’s former leader and Chairman during the campaign, Richard Tice, sparking a new civil war in the party.
Dan Wootton and Calvin Robinson analyse that and the Conservative party battle between Kemi Badenoch and Suella Braverman.
