Rice lagers are very common in the US. Brands like Sapporro, Asahi, Kirin and Hite can easily be found at Japanese and Korean restaurants. Also, US macro brews like Budweiser also use rice as an adjunct in the mash bill. Craft breweries have also put out Japanese Rice Lagers. Harland's Japanese Lager and Bottle Logic's Hanamachi are easy to find if you live in Southern California.
Asahi is my first dip into a Japanese, Japanese Rice Lager. Friends would regularly purchase 12 packs for parties and we would enjoy a large bottle at our favorite sushi spot. From what I remember, Asahi was always refreshing especially during hot days on Guam (almost every day). Thanks for watching!
