(20 Nov 2015) WING SHYA TEAMS UP WITH FASHION BRAND FOR #IMPERFECT CAMPAIGN
Notable photographer Wing Shya is famous for his photos of superstars like Maggie Cheung, Shu Qi and Zhou Xun, but for his new exhibition, Shya has teamed up with a fashion brand, and captured the essence of the most influential youngsters in Hong Kong with his lens.
Known for murky, cinematic styled photos, Shya said that he took a different artistic direction with this exhibition.
He put the subjects, wearing bold and bright clothing, in front of a white backdrop and kept the set well lit.
Shya said that the change in style was inspired by the young models, who were energetic, direct and knew what they wanted.
The exhibition, titled "#imperfect" can be read as I'm perfect or imperfect.
When asked which one he prefers, Shya said the answer is both.
"I truly think everything could be perfect. It depends on how you see the world, how you see the things."
Shya's exhibition can be seen in the Esprit flagship store in central Hong Kong.
