How much money do doctors need to accumulate to retire comfortably? The number one question that every doctor faces when it comes to building wealth is ‘how much do I need to retire?’ In this video I shed some clarity on how much retirement income doctors typically require.
Amount per year
In my experience, as a medical financial adviser, a reasonable amount would be anything between AUD$120,000 and AUD$150,000 after tax per annum. When we know this, we now have to reverse engineer that. Let's say we have a reasonably diversified portfolio, earning a reasonable level of income and capital growth. In that case you would need at least AUS$ 3 million to retire comfortably as a doctor.
