Unrest rocked Indonesia's easternmost region of Papua in mid-August. Locals and other Indonesians from other parts of the country have come together to pledge to maintain peace and unity in Papua. They include authorities, community leaders, police, military and locals from Jayapura regency and other parts of the region, such as Sorong, Manokwari and Merauke.
At all the events, the Indonesians sang the national anthem before signing a peace declaration.
