What happened to the experienced explorer, Percy Fawcett? Percy first made his discovery at the National Library of Brazil in the early 19th century when he stumbled upon Manuscript 512 detailing a city deep in the Amazon rainforest. The person who made the document was a famous Brazilian explorer. Percy had a hunch that the city is real but no location was noted down on the document.

Percy Fawcett made several attempt to track down the lost city of Z over several years. He even returned to serve in WWI and had to abandon search another time prematurely because he fell ill.

In what would be his last attempt, Percy brought his dear son and a close friend of his son into the jungle. He left specific instructions to not go in search of them if they never reemerge because he didn't want the rescue team to experience the same fate.

Percy Fawcett knew the dangers. It was rumored that he had met the local legend giant ape creatures on one of his previous trips and made it out to safety. Some theorize that Percy and his team had stumbled upon those creatures again and didn't made it out this time.

Some other theories suggests that Percy Fawcett had found the Lost City Of Z and either lived peacefully or were harmed by the hostile tribe.

The most likely scenario is that Fawcett succumbed to the harsh elements of the rainforest and their remains are still in there somewhere.

There is no evidence that the giant ape like creatures exists. Only local accounts to back up such claims so for now, that theory would have to remain an unlikely one.
