When I was volunteering in Ukraine I had time to ponder on how people made sense of the entire tragedy. And I realized the underlying narrative that permeated everything that I was witnessing.
The Modern Epic of the Freedom Fighters fighting the Evil Empire is the essence the way modern nations view themselves and their history. This story was shaped by history which in turn is shaped by it. As we see in the War for Ukraine. And I explain how that works in this video.
