Get More For Your Dollar With Lexus NX 350 Versus Other Luxury SUVs in The Same Price Bracket
When compared to other luxury SUVs at the same price, Lexus gives you more for your dollar, especially when it comes to safety standards:
The 2022 Lexus NX has all 16 Standard Driver Safety Assist Features, while the 2022 Accura RDX has just 10, the 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLC 300 has just 9, and the 2022 BMW X3 x-Drive 30i has just 7. These 16-driver assist safety features are all standard features, even on a base trim NX, while with other luxury SUVs these safety features are either an upcharge or not at all available. An example of these driver safety assists features not available on the BMW X3 Xdrive 30i is the Adaptive Cruise Control:
This is one of my favorite safety features. I had this feature turned on while I was driving between Colorado Springs and Denver, and the sun was just beating me down so that I wasn't up to par. All of a sudden, my Adaptive Cruise control greatly slowed me down, and I was like," what is happening?" I looked up and all 4 lanes ahead of me had come to a complete stop, and I had not noticed. So, it prevented me from getting in a bad wreck, when I was not up to par. Not being up to par can happen at any age. An elderly couple I recently sold a Lexus RX to, told me their vehicle has already kept them from becoming a part of an accident that happened in front of them: The vehicle ahead hit a guard rail, did a 360, then a 180 cross the lanes ahead of them. The driver safety assist helped them respond just in time to avoid being part of the wreck.
The driver-assist safety features are called active safety features, but there are also passive safety features. Your entire Lexus is made with safety in mind:
The doors are made with Corrugated steel walls and most Lexus vehicles are made with anti-intrusion bars. Not all vehicles are made with anti-intrusion bars. The headrests are designed to prevent whiplash, and the hood is slanted with crumple zone to prevent it from coming back and slicing your head off, if you were to get in a wreck.
The value of your NX extends well beyond safety. Your NX gets better MPG than these other luxury SUVs in the same price point, but not only that it performs better:
The NX is made with a 2.4 liter 4 cylinder turbocharged engine, while other luxury SUVs in the same price point have just a 2.0 L 4 cylinder turbocharged engine. You would think more liters means less MPG, but Lexus is intelligent in their design. This means that your NX has more horsepower, (which will help you pass the competition easily at highway speeds). It also means your NX has more torque, which means you can take off faster from a dead stop than they can or tow more than they can.
Not only do you get more safety and better performance, but you also get luxury that the competition does not offer. For example, the NX comes standard with a power tilt and telescopic steering wheel. This connects to the power seat and power mirror memory, so you don't have to take time to readjust it between different drivers.
Most people just look at the MSRP to determine value, but the 5-year cost of ownership is what they should also consider. It includes data on the expected depreciation of a vehicle, the cost of insurance, and the cost of maintenance and repairs......The difference in the 5-year cost of ownership between the NX and the BMW X3 is about $18000. The 5-year cost of ownership between the Mercedez-Benz GLC 300 4 Matic is about $16000.
In the initial purchase, you can spend up to $11,183 more for the 2022 Acura RDX and still just get a fraction of what the NX offers.
You can spend up to $18,270 more for the BMW X3 and still receive just a fraction of what the NX offers.
YOu can spend up to $24,365 more for the Mercedes-Benz GLC a300 4 Matic and still just receive a fraction of what the NX offers.
