Toney was a defensive master who styled his game on the old school greats such as Ezzard Charles, Archie Moore, Jersey Joe Walcott and Sugar Ray Robinson.
Toney used the catch and outside slip to defend against the double jab and this same defence of the catch and slip can also be used to defend against your opponents 1,2/jab, cross.
