In this video I test the .177 H&N Baracuda Match in lead and lead free through the Daystate Air Wolf, plus the .22 H&N Field Target Trophy and Field Target Trophy Green through the Air Arms S200, both pellets were shot at 40 yards. I also had some JSB Lead free in .22 which I was also able to test in the Air Arms S200. The JSB Lead free are probably one of the best lead free pellets on the market, and are the same as the Predator GTO that are available in the USA. The weather was hot and sunny, but the winds were strong, which doesn't help light weight pellets at long range. The H&N Field Target Trophy are advised to be used out to 25 yards, so at 40 yards this was almost twice the advised distance. The Baracuda Green are a little heavier, so are hopefully good to 30 yards and beyond. I chose 40 yards because that is the distance that you would expect most lead pellets to do well at, so would be a good comparison for the lead free.
From my last video on the proposed lead ban I thought it appropriate to see what we have to look forward to in two years time. Let's hope someone in power see's sense and keeps lead for bullet rifles and air rifles alike. I will be doing more tests with different lead free pellets in the future. Let's hope that someone starts producing good quality and affordable lead free pellets and bullets in the coming months, or we are all in the shit!
