Located north of the Ring Expressway - in the High-Tech Zone, south of Jinyue East Road, and east of the northern section of Tianfu Avenue - all that can be seen on approach are the beautiful tapestry gardens and the giant, shimmering columns of water – reaching 39 meters into the sky.

This is not by accident. From the very beginning, SKP wished to honour Chengdu’s nature and humanity which is why from the very beginning, SKP Chengdu was designed with a ‘mixed use’ masterplan in mind.

+ It is why we took on the challenge of placing our immense retail buildings into a sunken space.

+ It is why we ensured 75% of all these buildings had 1.5metres of soil above them to help accommodate and assist with vegetation.

+ It is why we were able to use this soil to create a giant tapestry of gardens - 3/4 km long, 1/3 km wide – as a gift to the people of Chengdu.

+ It is why the entire structure has been built using the ‘Sponge City’ concept – a new urban construction model that strengthens ecological infrastructure and drainage while retaining water from the site.

+ It is why we designed transportation links that fitted in with the concept … from building a complex train system that passes through different heights to a car park system, as far down as 17.5 to 25.5 metres that can hold 2,400 cars.

+ It is why the entire SKP complex was carefully designed to lead standards in carbon neutrality, achieve the Chinese Government’s goal of having 30% of all new construction being ‘green’ and ensure our biophilic design ensured architecture and nature sat in perfect harmony.

In addition, we wanted to honour Chengdu as a fashion capital of China and a city that recognises high quality and good living.
