Title: Serah’s Theme: Wish and Memory
Game: Final Fantasy XIII-2
Composer: Masashi Hamauzu, Lyrics by Motomu Toriyama and Frances Maya
Arranger: Sami Louguit
Featuring: Rachel Wattanarungsikajorn, Connor Belman
Frequently finding herself at the center of many tragic events, Serah is scarred by her past, and her quiet exterior hides a gentle resiliency. She travels through time to find her sister Lightning in a journey that would become intertwined with the fate of her world. “Wish” is the main theme, and it is featured musically in all main character themes, though its motif is most similar to Serah’s “Memory” theme. This piece exhibits a blend of the two, highlighting their complementary natures. In the style of original composer Masashi Hamauzu, the piece’s elegant orchestration and lush harmonies envelop the listener in loving sentiment and warmth.
This piece was performed at our Spring 2019 concert in Dekelboum Hall. Follow us on our social media platforms or visit our website to stay up-to-date on our latest events and performances!
