Portsoy is a small harbour town on the Moray Firth coast. It was originally in Banffshire but is now part of Aberdeenshire and has a population around 1,800. It has two harbours ... the 17th century 'old harbour' to the west of the town and a newer harbour to the east, built in 1825 for the herring fleet.
Portsoy has been the filming location for Peaky Blinders and a 2016 remake of Whisky Galore!
In 1993, the Scottish Traditional Boat Festival, celebrating the 300th year of the harbour, began its annual event, attracting boats and visitors from afar.
My video shows the now disused open-air seawater swimming pool built amongst the rocks and would have been used by many a 'hardy soul' in its heyday!
I hope to have a second video uploaded soon, showing the eastern side of
the town and the Camping and Caravan Park.
