The Raumjager are Wargames Atlantic's first set of plastic models. They've released a variety of kits since these guys and have even more coming, all in plastic- skeleton warriors, halflings scifi grognards, dark age Irish... there's a lot of variety they've got coming!
But let's get back to the Raumjager here. They're supposed to be actual World War 2 soldiers that have been transported to some sort of galactic gladiator arena. That's an odd choice, but it is what it is.
These dudes are perfect if you're going to run some of the more eclectic Guard units, like the Steel Legion, Death Korps of Krieg or possibly Elysian Drop troops (especially since these guys are basically Fallschirmjager straight out of the front). They'd also make some pretty decent bad guy grunts in just about any scifi setting I can think of. Personally they'll be getting scuttled into my raiders for post apocalyptic games.
There is a variety of weapons available, and you've got quite a few options for heads as well. Plus the fact that you get 24 guys in a box as opposed to what GW offers up at least gives you a bit more bang for you buck.
