🔥 Due to increasing temperatures, wild fires are becoming more common globally and in the U.K. too. Now the British uplands, (vast hills of highly flammable peat topped with heather kindling) are becoming a large area of concern for firefighters. Whilst controlled burns and Muirburn, have been used for decades, a mounting pressure to reduce carbon emissions is causing policy makers and conservation groups to question the viability of this practice.
