You'll learn simple drawing and painting techniques that will help you to develop a realistic pine tree forest that overlooks a beautiful setting sun on the horizon of a sea with a tall striped nautical island lighthouse. The foreground glows and the water sparkles with soft highlights and reflections of the sun sinking behind the horizon. You'll learn how to paint the reflection of the colorful sunsetting sky in the water with an easy impressionistic brush stroke. In this painting you will also learn how to create atmospheric dimension with the muted colors in the sky and the snow that will give the illusion of a twilight dusk time of day. Color theory will guide us through the color choices to develop a landscape with perspective and depth. Using an easy blending technique you'll learn to paint the dramatic evening sky with gentle clouds floating by. You can customize the painting to be any one of the four seasons of summer, spring, winter or fall with snow, fall leaves, or mountain flowers, or change up the landscape to be that of a large expansive ocean, seaside cliffs, or a tropical island with the lighthouse anchoring the image, or maybe a ship sailing off in the distance would look great. This painting is created in an impressionistic style that embodies realistic visual affects. Your forest will resemble mostly evergreen pine trees, but you can incorporate other tree species such as oak, poplar, beech, maple or birch. You'll learn how to paint this landscape image filled with crisp notes of the cool season with tranquil thoughts of long quiet nights and festive holiday celebrations. Using simple painting techniques to add color contrast, as well as highlights and shadows on the hill and ground, you'll bring the image to life with a 3-d photo realistic quality. You'll learn how to utilize a dark background for an easy way to add dimension to the form and shape of the trees and objects on the shoreline. The bold deep colors add a moodiness to the piece, but allow it to have a sense of stillness in this relaxing natural environment. With the construction of the composition you'll have fun with the simplicity of the process, but you'll also learn some valuable lessons that you can utilize in future work! This painting is sure to impress the viewer and compliment the décor of any room. Using only 3 brushes and 7 colors we'll create this conversational masterpiece with a magnificent lively seasonal energy. So let's get painting and let's get sipping!
