Do 2 month old kittens need freshly softened food?
8 week old kittens are barely past breastfeeding and need the extra nutrients and moisture that comes in wet kitten food. Offer a small 2-3 oz. can 3-4 times a day. Kittens need more food to grow and develop appropriately. Adjust amounts based on your kitten. Your kitten may need 5 feedings a day or 3. Your kitten may scarf down all 3 oz. at each feeding or may only eat half. Adjust feedings based on your kitten and remember the older they get, the more food they need.
