Charlie Rauh joins me to play a duo version of my song Bronxdale Sunrise. This is one of the new songs I've written over quarantine in my apartment in The Bronx. My neighborhood is Pelham Parkway but I've noticed it's occasionally referred to as Bronxdale, which has a nice ring to it.
I've been writing a lot of instrumental music recently. It's been nice to have the quiet and space to write. The pieces I've been writing lately borrow equally from American folk music, post-bop jazz, and Rennaisance era lute and vihuella music. Charlie does a beautiful job if synthesizing these influences in his playing
