This breakfast combo is prepared in festive moods or on special days or Sundays. A very popular breakfast among bengalies prepared by almost every bengali families. The spicy dal is served with too soft poori/luchi and begun/baigan fry. Its no onion no garlic recipe.

Ingredients--
To cook chana/cholar dal- 1 cup chana/chola/Bengal gram lentils, 1tsp salt, 1tsp turmeric, 2 green cardamom and 1+1/2 cup water
For tempering- 2tbsp mustard oil, 2 bay leaves, 1tsp cumin/jeera seeds, 1 red chilli, 1inch cinnamon/dalchini, 1tsp ginger, 4 green chillies, 4 green cardamom, 4 cloves/loung, 1tsp sugar, 1/2tsp coriander/dhania powder, 1/2tsp cumin/jeera powder, 1/2tsp turmeric powder, 1/2tsp salt, 1tbsp ghee/clarified butter, 1/2tsp garam masala powder, 15-16 raisins/kishmish, 2tbsp fresh coconut chunks (small pieces) & 5-6 slices of coconut.
For brinjal/Baigan/begun-
4 slices of begun/Baigan
1/2tsp salt +1/2tsp turmeric +1/2tsp sugar
1tbsp mustard oil
For Luchi/poori- 1 cup refined flour/maida, 1/2cup wheat flour, 1tbsp refined oil, 1/2tsp carom seeds, 1/2 to 3/4 cup water, 3/4tsp salt & 1/2tsp sugar
Refined oil to fry Luchi/poori- 6-7tbsp
