Depending on where you have received your flight training some students have never used the Foggles. The purpose of Foggles is to restrict the student’s vision to just the instrument on the plane. Wearing the foggles for the first time during flight training is a whole experience itself on top of the already difficult instrument readings. As a Private Pilot they are taught to look outside of the plane so to be forced to look solely at the instrument is going against what you have previously practiced for about 50-60 hours.
