In this video we show you how to adjust your Sanwa joystick from four-directional operation to eight-directional operation.

Remove the restrictor plate from the base of your joystick. Position the plate so that the letters "PC" are at the top. Push the insert out of place, and rotate the insert counterclockwise by 45-degrees, until the pins reach the next notch. The restrictor plate is now set to eight-directional movement.

Games designed for four-directional joysticks include Pac-Man, Donkey Kong, and Frogger. Games designed for eight-directional joysticks include Street Fighter 2, Double Dragon, and The Simpsons.
