SETUP (EASY)
If you Already Have an Xbox One, just copy the settings to an external drive or thumbstick. It literally is one button setup that way. Just type in your Microsoft Password and everything moves over, all your games, movies and apps just 'work' straight out of the box.
REVIEW
What I love the most about the new Xbox One X is the size and compatability. The old Xbox One has a special power supply. One time I was travelling with the Xbox and left the power cord at home by accident. It was impossible to obtain a new one. The new Xbox One X accepts a standard 2 prong power plug available at any store. Another key feature, is it works with any webcam - you don't need to buy a special camera to run Skype. The compact size is fantastic. You can take it literally anywhere - its about the size of a laptop but heavier. Check it in your luggage and travel with it.
UPGRADE
The first thing that you'll see when you plug it in is a software download. For me it was a 700 megabyte download of a full operating system. It took about 15 minutes to download and then 15 minutes to install. Once it was installed, it fired up exactly as my old Xbox One with all my applications intact. Again, if you use an external USB 3.0 hard drive and copy your settings and your applications before, its seamless.
WHY ITS SO COOL
Everything runs faster. I was able to see a full 1080p 60 FPS experience of Assassins' Creed Origins at about the same quality you'd expect from running on a PC. Same goes for Ghost Recon Wildlands. No longer do customers of the XBOX games have to compromise on quality due to the set-top environment.
The XBOX ONE had a pseudo interpretation of 720p quality upscaled. Even when it said '1080p' it didn't look like it. My PC could always produce a better look and textures for every applications.
With the XBOX ONE X, you're seeing a full 1080p experience and 4K. I haven't tried 4K yet and the system was made for 4K TV's, but I can tell you its a big NOTICEABLE difference in quality from the XBOX ONE.
CONCLUSION
If you are looking for the state of the art in home entertainment, video chat, and community connection, the XBOX ONE X has it all. Microsoft listened to what customers want and built a set-top box that will endure for years to come. Great job!
