Blood is a fluid connective tissue that consists of plasma, blood cells and platelets. It circulates throughout our body delivering oxygen and nutrients to various cells and tissues.
RBCs are biconcave cells without nucleus also known as erythrocytes
produced in bone marrows
RBCs contain the iron-rich protein called haemoglobin; Red Blood Cells are red due to Hemoglobin, which is a transport molecule and also a pigment.
White blood cells, also known as leukocytes, are responsible for protecting your body from infection.
There are five types of white blood cells present in the blood and are classified mainly based on the presence and absence of granules.
The granulated cells include- eosinophil, basophil, and neutrophil.
Agranulocytes are monocytes and lymphocytes.
Platelets are tiny blood cells that help your body form clots to stop bleeding. If one of your blood vessels gets damaged, it sends out signals to the platelets . The platelets then rush to the site of damage and form a plug (clot) to fix the damage.
