After recent calls by Hungary's far right Jobbik party for a list of prominent Jewish people to be drawn up in order to protect national security, the Parliamentary State Secretary for National Development, has come forward to say he did not choose to be Jewish but that the Jobbik party can choose whether to be anti-Semitic. Janos Fonagy addressed Jobbik deputies saying they will "bear history's judgement" and Jewish people in Hungary say they are determined not to allow a political climate in which they are suppressed.
