This LCM-3 is the weathered version. It does look better and I am pleased to have it in my collection. Landing Craft Mechanized, were landing craft to ferry troops, equipment, vehicles and even tanks (depend of the LCM model and capacity. Due the nature in the Pacific Theater in World War-2, landing craft were necessary in amphibious assault due to the so called island hopping warfare. United States develop LCMs based on what they have observed from the Japanese when they took island after island in the Pacific. The LCM then evolved into various types to meet requirements. It is also important to note that LCM played key part during Operation Overlord on D-Day. It landed troops and equipment in the beached of Normandy.
This model is impressive and very detailed as you can see on the video. I personally love and collect Forces of Valor scale models due to its accurate representation of World War-2 and other military vehicles.
