Hypersonic Ballistic Missiles:
They look marvelous when launched; a beauty to watch, hypersonic ballistic missiles. For
those who don’t know what it is, well they are cruise missiles that travel inside the
atmosphere at more than five times the speed of sound, approximately over 4,000 mph.

are working on them.

Since 1990, the US American Air Force laboratory has been constantly testing, designing
and developing hypersonic ballistic missiles. The result was the Boeing X-51 waverider that
set the World Record for the Longest Hypersonic Flight in 2013.

However, the latest and most futuristic Hypersonic missile is PRS-1M, also known as
53T6M, developed by Russia as part of their missile defense system. It is capable of
reaching a top speed of 4 kilometers per second which is INCREDIBLE.

and therefore it developed a prototype explosion proof suit to protect soldiers from such
explosions. The initial testing was successful. Designers were so confident of their suit that
they demonstrated the effectiveness of the suit by asking one of the members to wear it and
walk through explosions and fire. ROSTEC is confident that the suit will be soon used by the

Russian Defence Ministry. How much and what kind of explosion the suit can withstand has,
however, been kept classified.
