Fr Terrance gives the homily at Bloomington, IN on Mar 10 on how Jesus was led into the desert for forty days to be tempted by the devil. He describes the many times this number of 40 days appears in scripture and how it always refers to a probation period. Fr. explains how to maintain hope and self worth when we are tempted to despair in times of trial, rejection or even if we have a fall. Despair is always prompted by the lies of the Devil just as he tried on Jesus in the desert. By uniting ourselves and our thinking with Christ who is truth, we can stand up to the lies of Satan that tempt us to despair.
