A trio of larger than life characters Armand van Helden, Solardo and Hervé link up for new single 'Power Of Bass' out on MOS now.
Armand Van Helden has been a massive name in the dance music scene now since the mid 90's. More lately as one half of Duck Sauce, the American producer/DJ has been responsible for so many iconic dance floor moments such as his remixes of Tori Amos, Nu Yorican Soul and massive individual hits like 'U Don't Know Me'.
Manchester lads Solardo have been steamrolling their way to the top of the new wave of House producers over the last few years although individually the lads have been around under different guises for many years now.
Cheap Thrills label boss Hervé is another powerhouse with over a decade of experience he's remixed everyone from Beyonce to Chemical Brothers and dropped his 'Hallucinated Surf' album back in 2016 to many plaudits.
This collaboration affair was originally more than likely a AVH and Hervé production that the Solardo lads have then joined onto.
"We felt the original track had a great vocal to it but needed an injection of our style. We stripped it right back and dropped a massive acid line in it and we think we created a monster....we hope it gets to see some clubs soon" Solardo
The track is a decent club hit, to be honest it's not the super cut we would expect from these names but maybe it got lost in translation somewhere. Ironic enough there's a distinct lack of a powerful bass line, there's lot's of nice Solardo-type rave synths and the vocal is decent if not a touch too much and becomes overpowering as do the rises and backspins. Overall it's a decent track but it's very disjointed at times for us and could have been so much better.
'Power of Bass' is out now on Ministry Of Sound, you can Buy/Stream 'Power of Bass' here.
