The Sonic Dawn ist eine psychedelische Rockband aus Kopenhagen, Dänemark, die bezüglich musikalischer Sixties-Authentizität Ihresgleichen sucht. Die Mitglieder des jungen Trios kennen sich bereits von Kindesbeinen an, ihr Zusammenspiel wirkt entsprechend miteinander vertraut.
Man orientiert sich dabei an Acts von der US-amerikanischen Westküste: Schweineorgel, Jingle-Jangle-Gitarren und das eine oder andere Hendrix-artige Lick inklusive. Trotz Sixties-Pop-Sensibilität gibt es in ihrer stilistischen Zeitreise auch lautere Garagen-Rocker und hippie-eske Kiffer-Epen – interessanterweise bleiben ihre Songs meistens unter der 4-Minuten-Grenze.
Als wollten The Sonic Dawn die letzten 50 Jahre der Pop- und Rockgeschichte ungeschehen machen: Musik, die aus der Zeit gefallen scheint, die jedwede Modernität ablehnt, die weltfremd und mysteriös wirkt.
