BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) trains both arriving and departing Embarcadero Station in downtown San Francisco on January 23rd, 2015. Four BART lines (red, yellow, green and blue) run through Embarcadero Station and they're all featured in this video. Related arrival announcements are also included.
BART began operations in 1972 and rapidly expanded, linking virtually the whole Bay Area together with a single network. Extensions are underway to link the South Bay Area (San Jose) with BART.
BART - unlike all other rail systems in California - uses Indian gauge track 1676mm (5ft 6inches) as opposed to the uniform standard gauge 1435mm (4ft 8-1/2 inches) that other rail systems use.
