A popular Iranian actress Afsaneh Bayegan has been handed a 2-year prison sentence for not wearing a hijab headscarf in public. According to the local media, Afsaneh Bayegan was arrested after attending a movie premiere without a hijab as she was wearing a hat hence failing to comply with the hijab law. She has been suspended for 5 years.
