After climbing the 384 step Staircases you will be rewarded by a Breathtaking view of the entire City of Liege, the backdrop is the panoramic view of Liege and the Meuse river. The Montagne de Bueren was name after Vincent de Bueren after he defended the Liege against the attack of Charles the Bold in 15th century,it was build in 1881 in honour to the 600 hundred soldiers who died from the Battle.
Luik belgique that's a word from flemish which is the language they also use in Liege aside from french which means "Liege Belgium". Most of the population here are Italian Moroccan and vietnamese and afro-american.
In 2013 the Montagne de Bueren 374 step Staircases were ranked #1 on the Huffington's Post's as Most Extreme Staircases. One of the interesting part about this Staircases is that in July 2020,in response to the impact of COVID-19 PANDEMIC IN BELGIUM the Belgian explorer and adventurer Louis-Philippe Loncke ascended and descended the staircase 135 times carrying a 15 kg. backpack. The 9000 m climb took 65 hrs and 30 minutes, was meant to show that one could still find physical challenges close to home.
