Here is a vintage Humes and Berg Chicago Clear Tone Mute I just finished restoring. Like many of these, someone had twisted off the smaller cone on the end and attempted to reaffix it with a ton of adhesive. It did not go (or look) well! This was stripped down, cleaned up, re-glued, repainted, new label, clear coat, and new cork. These and the Shastock Solotone Mutes are some of the hardest ones to restore because there are so many different parts and they are usually damaged. I think it turned out pretty well and is back to not only being fully functional but also a great looking item again!
