This lovely patient was bothered by cellulite in the back of her thighs and buttock region. She was interested in reducing the cellulite so I performed a cellulite reduction procedure using Aveli. At one month post-procedure, there is significant improvement.
What is cellulite?
Cellulite is the dimpled appearance of skin that is typically seen in the back of the thighs and buttock area.
What causes cellulite?
Thickened fibrous tissue that connects muscle fascia to the skin causes depressions on the surface of the skin.
Who gets cellulite?
Approximately 80-90% of adult women have cellulite to some extent.
How is cellulite treated?
Release of the fibrous tissue causing the dimpling is an effective way to reduce or improve the appearance of cellulite.
What is Aveli?
Aveli is a special device that safely and effectively releases the tethering causing cellulite, precisely where there is dimpling of skin.
Who is a good candidate?
Patients with mild to moderate cellulite without significant skin laxity or extra skin is an ideal candidate for cellulite reduction with Aveli.
How long does it take?
Depending on how many areas that need to be treated, it can take 1-2 hours with local anesthesia.
What is the down time?
Recovery is less than a week. Swelling and bruising is to be expected after the procedure. Compression garments should be worn to help with swelling and recovery.
