Dry fly fishing with a Tenkara rod on a small meadow creek in Montana are what dreams are made of. Montana's wonderful stream access laws, pristine fisheries, and beautiful country provide the perfect recipe for solitude, low angling pressure, and getting hooked into hungry beautiful trout. I visit Montana every year right as the hoppers and other large bugs get on the menu for big hungry trout. This particular day, I was fishing with a #12 royal wulff and the trout completely lived up to their Montana hype. As I made my way up this narrow crooked creek, I found fish in just about every bend willing to take my fly and tighten my line. Dry fly fishing is extremely rewarding, challenging, simple, and exciting with a Tenkara rod. There is no better way to fish dries on a crystal clear creek, the subtle presentation is unmatched with a traditional fly rod and reel. Come along and enjoy the excitement of hooking into beautiful native Westslope cutthroat trout. Thanks for checking out my world today!
