This puppy may have had humble beginnings, being born on the grounds of Louisiana State Penitentiary at Angola, but now, she’s royalty. Malcolm Alexander was exonerated in 2018 for a crime he did not commit. In his final year of incarceration, he volunteered to look after the runt in a litter of puppies born there. When he was acquitted, Malcolm made sure to take his puppy, "Innocence," with him. Now, the pair have been nominated to march in the Krewe of Barkus 2019, the annual Mardi Gras dog parade in New Orleans, and Innocence will have the position of "Princess Royale."
