Maternal mental health activist Kirsty Learmonth reflects on her experience with post partum depression and how it robbed her of the first year with her baby and almost destroyed her relationship - and her life. She aims to lift the maternal bliss myth that damages mothers' mental health on days, months or years when the best years of your life aren't exactly that. Kirsty is a cofounder of Mental Moms, a social media platform created to support parents by discussing a no hold barred approach to parenthood. Originally suffering with severe Post Natal Depression, Kirsty created a blog as an outlet for her thoughts, and also as a platform to promote a real and raw account of parenthood. Tears, breakdowns, laughs and all. Kirsty shares with brutal honesty the impact of PND on her life, with a view to supporting and freeing others from the isolation of parenthood. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at [ Ссылка ]
