Michigan recently welcomed another big-name political figure to the state, as Dr. Jill Biden traveled to Grand Rapids Tuesday morning to discuss food insecurity and community involvement amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The stop was part of a campaign day for Biden, wife to Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden and former United States Second Lady.
Biden arrived at Kids’ Food Basket at around 10:35 a.m. Tuesday, where she met with Hillary Scholten, a Grand Rapids-based civil rights attorney and the Democratic candidate for Michigan’s 3rd Congressional District, which is currently held by Rep. Justin Amash.
