All you need is to have the Mission Rock, Paper, Genocide Fire weapons active and for Sanctuary to be in the air after it takes off from Jacks attack on the city in the main story.

Also an infinity pistol is required for unlimited ammo.

To speed up the process different level infinity pistols will help as you climb higher but not necessary. Also the same with bee shields for the amp damage and a Sheriffs badge to boost pistol power.

Five years have passed since the events of Borderlands, when four Vault Hunters, a Hunter, a Soldier, a Siren and a Berserker, were guided by a mysterious entity known as "The Guardian Angel" to the Vault and confronted an alien abomination known as "The Destroyer".
