Welcome to our Vikings Blood Mead video... In this series we are making our own variations of Vikings Blood. Vikings Blood is simply 'Cherry Melomel' that we have added our own twists to. We though at various stages of the process will be altering some of the batch.
Watch our racking of this recipe [ Ссылка ] to see the variations we made. Into four separate second fermentation vessels we will mix varying spices to create alternative undertones.
We will be adding Chocolate and Vanilla to all four separate vessels, watch the Vikings Blood Racking video to see the alternative twists we do.
Base Vikings Blood Recipe: just under x2 kilos of honey. 23 liters of water. x1 kilo of cherries. The yeast we used was "MANGROVE JACKS MO5 MEAD YEAST".
We brought the sugar level up to where we wanted it with 4 kilos of sugar, we added sugar rather then more honey as we will also be distilling some of this batch to make variations of spirit.
We have never distilled Vikings Blood before, or any melomel infact. We have only ever distilled traditional mead. So when we rack this we will keep x10L aside to distill. This is going to be an experiment of sorts.
