President Tsai Ing-wen has officially confirmed the Democratic Progressive Party's nominations for Taipei mayor and New Taipei mayor in year-end elections. Health minister Chen Shih-chung will run in Taipei, while former transportation minister Lin Chia-lung gets the nod for neighboring New Taipei. Tsai also holds the position of DPP chair.
