This was my instrumental trio, 'The singer's on tour'. So named because every time people asked us where the singer was, I said 'The singer's on tour'. We gigged Vancouver from 2012 to 2015 before work dried up. Considering no one hires band without singers, it was my pure perseverance and passion for a power trio that kept me chasing venues and managers until they hired us. Best bassist and drummer I ever played with. These guys could play anything. Had a lot of bands over the years, but this was definitely the most fun, as we got to jam like mad on a very eclectic set list of Rock/pop/funk/progressive/ tv themes.
This take is from a Halloween show 1975. We are playing the theme from the TV show SWAT, which I consider one of the top 2 greatest TV themes of the 70's. (Street of San Francisco was the other one). We segue into Mission impossible jam.
I had the Neal Schon/zappa wig, the glasses and the mustache, which starts falling off half way through the song. The bassist has a hard time keeping a straight face watching my hair achieve orbit. Chris (Capital hill invasion guy) on drums, Aranildo on bass. If I get any interest, I will reform this band!
