Video 1: Upper Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. As the endoscope passes into the distal esophagus, moderate luminal narrowing is identified, extending to the gastroesophageal junction. Normal mucosa is identified. The luminal narrowing is most consistent with extrinsic compression from the mediastinal mass.
Video 2: Endoscopic Ultrasonography. Imaging from the distal esophagus shows the cystic mediastinal mass as a multiseptated lesion with internal complexity, characterized by bright material within the cavity. This may represent intracystic hemorrhage or infection. Normal cardiac structures can be seen abutting the cystic mass. A close-up view of the cyst shows a speckled pattern within the cyst that is consistent with proteinaceous fluid content. Note the thickness of the cyst wall.
