Mount Tambora is an active volcano on the island of Sumbawa in Indonesia, whose eruption in 1815 had a massive impact on the Earth’s climate for several years afterwards. SCMP photographer Antony Dickson hiked to the caldera at the foot of the volcano to capture this stunning video footage of its unusual natural environment.
