This opening track of "Wadi hafla", the 5 th and most oriental Abdel Hazim album is a remake of "Chalinova" on the "Tribal bellydance" album.
The music honours the great Egyptian legend of oriental dance Taheya Carioca. Born in the golden age of Egyptian and Arabic cinema, she featured in some of the best productions of the 40's and the 50's. Badaweya Muhammad Ali el Nidani joined the troupe of Badia Masabni and took on the nameTahiya Mohamed. As she became soon the star dancer of the ensemble she changed her name into Tahia Carioca after seeing a samba dance popular in Rio the janeiro. (resource: Bellydance museum - [ Ссылка ])
