This animation, created using MATLAB, separates a trajectory in the vector field from its time evolution for the usual (deterministic) double-well potential with a small forcing coefficient. Since the forcing is nonzero, the vector field (left) changes in time (as shown by the moving mini-tangents). This particular trajectory is outside a homoclinic orbit, and thus flows around both wells.
