LEED For Homes is the most well-known and globally used residential green building standard. It looks at energy, health, materials, water, and place and ensures maximum sustainability is implemented.

LEED v4.1 SF, while not fully balloted, is available and is being used now internationally. It can be used on new/existing, duplexes as well as up to 4 flats. The program is very similiar to v4 in the US and Canada but there are some key differences too. What are they?

Prior to watching this course you may either want to be familiar with LEED V4 or attend the full on demand understanding LEED for Homes version 4 course as it goes into credit by credit detail.

We will also briefly review the new LEED Zero and how to use it on Single Family.

1. Know more about the LEED for Homes program for v4.1 Single Family and what healthy home requirements there in regards to LEED V4 BD+C Environmental Quality Ventilation Prequisite.
2. Articulate the basic points and requirements of LEED v4.1 that lead to the welfare of the occupants and community and differences with LEED V4 Energy & Atmosphere Annual Energy Use Credit
3. Understand safe and assured ways to approach single-family in a holistic and green way while comparing what's different with LEED V4 Water Efficiency Indoor water & outdoor water use.
4. Get an introduction to LEED zero, net-zero, and zero energy options in regards to energy and atmosphere.

Instructor - Brett Little – Program Manager – LEED – AP Homes / Assistant Quality Control / Green Rater / Faculty

Brett has served at GHI since 2011 and since then has helped oversee the LEED for Homes program ensuring certification over nearly 10,000 units across 100’s of projects. Brett helps to instructor moderate education sessions that are both online and in-person, oftentimes conducting more than 50 per year. He serves as a LEED for Homes Green Rater on small, affordable housing projects in the Grand Rapids, Michigan area. Additionally, he helps administer Enterprise Green Communities on Low-income Housing Projects across the Midwest region.
