Mexico is a nation built on legends. During the 1960s and early 1970s, one of its greatest sons, Pedro Rodríguez, become a legend to motorsports fans worldwide with his exploits on the track. A 24 Hours of Le Man champion and the first-ever Mexican to win an F1 race, perhaps his greatest achievements came with Porsche. Driving the iconic Gulf-liveried 917, Pedro helped Porsche secure the World Champion of Makes titles in 1970 and 1971.
Today, 50 years after his tragic death, we celebrate the life of a Mexican motorsport hero.
